Police Academy International Center for Terrorism and Transnational Crime held the workshop on “Holistic approach at Counter-Smuggling” on March 26-27, 2012. Officials from directly or indirectly combating smuggling agencies, Ministry of Interior (Turkish National Police General Directorate, General Command of Gendarmerie, General Command of Coast Guard, and Border Administration Office), Custom and Commerce Ministry (Customs Enforcement General Directorate), Ministry of Justice (Laws General Directorate, and Criminal Affairs General Directorate), Ministry of Finance (Revenue Administration Presidency, Financial Crimes Investigation Board, and Tax Inspection Board Presidency) and Ministry of Economy (Free Zones General Directorate, and Import General Directorate) participated to the workshop.

At the workshop, several facets of combating smuggling were discussed, interagency cooperation examples were presented and future anti-smuggling tasks were developed.
